Course Introduction ›

When undertaking projects at work, a lot of what is done is not based on best practices in project management. This is primarily due to disconnect that exists between concepts and practical application of these concepts when dealing with real life situations at work. In this regard, it would be better to learn about important project management concepts through a case study based approach.

This two day intensive case study based training program is designed to facilitate the application of key project management based concepts in practice. The program shall entail the participants being broken up into a number of groups and to engage in a group based discussion in order to answer questions posed at the end of case study that has been specially designed for the training program.

After the group based discussion has been done, the team members in the group shall be required to make a presentation of their group discussion findings for the rest of the class. This presentation will be open to questions from the floor and comments from the rest of the class.

Once all the comments have been made, the course facilitator shall comment on the presentations made in terms of relevance and adequacy in dealing with the issues raised in the case provided. The facilitator shall provide solutions to the questions posed so that the participants are able to learn what they could have done better to address the case study based situation indicated in the case study.
