Communication, both presentation and writing competencies, is one of the core competencies amidst other business skills. Writing is a key method of communication for most people and it’s one that many people struggle with. Does writing come naturally to you or do you hesitate, stumble and lose time trying to put your thoughts together? Think about the people who read your documents – are you convinced that they are getting your intended message? Poorly written communication can damage your organisation’s image and lose business opportunities.   • Presenting ideas in a structured manner – What you wanted to say and How you say the message
  • Speaking on your feet – managing speech where you do not have time to organize your thoughts against the words you intend to say
  • Power of word choices – to instil understanding and persuasion from your message

  • Write in the shoes of the reader
  • Develop a systematic Writing Plan
    • Planning : sharpening the mind with 6 FRAMES of thinking the information to put in relevant information in the message
    • Writing : avoid copy and paste
    • Editing : challenge the writing with examining the logical flow of thoughts if the reader could understand your intended message
      • K.I.S.S the writing to avoid unnecessary lengthy mail
    • Proofreading to ensure all relevant information has been included and the format is neat and sound
